Draft for reviewPrepared September 8, 2026Education, with clear expectations.
At a glanceUse your own account, respect your learning community, and share only information you are authorized to use. Your school controls access to its workspace; you retain rights in your own content.

This draft is not yet an effective legal notice. Prepared for SkyLight Tech Enterprise, South Carolina, USA. The full postal address, effective date, and remaining policy details must be confirmed before adoption.

About these terms

SkyLight Tech Enterprise operates SkolarBase from South Carolina, USA. These draft terms describe the proposed conditions for using SkolarBase’s website, personal teaching workspaces, and school workspace tools. “You” means the person using the service or, where applicable, the organization authorized to use it.

SkyLight Tech Enterprise’s full postal address and the effective date of these terms must be confirmed before this draft is adopted. An applicable agreement with a school may include additional service and data-processing terms.

Accounts and eligibility

Use accurate account information and a sign-in method you are authorized to use. Keep passwords and verification codes private. Do not share an account, impersonate another person, or use someone else’s school credentials.

Students should use school workspaces under the direction of their school and with any legally required parent or guardian authorization. Independent teachers must have authority to use the materials and information they bring into a workspace. Age requirements and the applicable authorization process must be confirmed before student onboarding.

Selecting Teacher, Student, Parent, or Admin during registration does not itself grant access to school records or administrator permissions.

School and personal workspaces

School administrators manage invitations, roles, active membership, class enrollment, and parent links. Access depends on those assignments. Contact your school if information is missing or your permissions appear incorrect.

A personal teacher workspace supports independent class and assignment preparation. Joining a school does not automatically move personal work into that school’s workspace. Only add student information when you have the required authorization.

Schools and SkolarBase each remain responsible for their own applicable obligations. These terms do not transfer all student privacy or consent responsibilities to a teacher or school.

Responsible use

Use SkolarBase for authorized learning, teaching, and school administration. In particular, do not:

  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or expose private information about another person.
  • Upload unlawful material, malicious software, or content you do not have permission to use.
  • Attempt to bypass access controls, view another school’s records, or obtain someone else’s credentials.
  • Disrupt the service, misuse automated access, or manipulate grades, submissions, attendance, or movement records.
  • Use classroom information for unrelated advertising, profiling, or other unauthorized purposes.

Follow your school’s academic integrity and acceptable-use rules as well as these terms.

Your content and permissions

You or the relevant rights holder retain ownership of the material you contribute, including lesson content, assignment instructions, and student work. You must have permission to upload and share that material with its intended recipients.

Under these proposed terms, you authorize SkolarBase to store, process, display, and transmit contributed content only as needed to provide and maintain the service, support authorized users, and meet applicable legal obligations. This permission does not transfer ownership of your work.

SkolarBase’s branding, interface, and original platform materials remain subject to their owners’ intellectual property rights. Third-party and open-source materials remain subject to their respective licenses.

Educational tools and decisions

Review assignments, grades, feedback, and imported information before relying on them. Teachers and schools remain responsible for educational decisions and for correcting inaccurate school records.

Some features may be demonstrations, previews, or store work only in the current browser. Keep appropriate copies of important work and confirm a submission has been received. A displayed sample or local download should not be treated as a complete official school record.

Hall passes and classroom tools support school procedures. They are not emergency services or a substitute for staff approval, supervision, or a school’s safeguarding procedures.

Connected services

Sign-in and optional integrations may use third-party services, including Auth0, Google, Microsoft, or a school identity provider. Use of those services is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy information.

Only connect accounts you are authorized to use. Review requested permissions before allowing an integration. Changes to a provider, school configuration, or revoked permission can affect the availability of connected features.

Availability and paid services

Access may be interrupted by maintenance, outages, configuration changes, or third-party service issues. Features can evolve. These draft terms do not promise uninterrupted availability or a particular support response time.

Any paid service must identify its price, billing period, renewal conditions, cancellation process, and applicable refund terms before purchase. This page does not itself create a subscription or authorize a charge. A separate school agreement may set out service commitments.

Ending or restricting access

Access may be restricted where necessary to address unauthorized use, a security issue, a legal requirement, or a school’s membership decision. A school can revoke a member’s access to its workspace.

You can stop using SkolarBase and sign out. Signing out, disconnecting an identity provider, or clearing browser data does not automatically delete your account or school records. For school-held records, contact your administrator about access, correction, retention, and deletion.

See the Privacy Policy draft for the distinction between browser data and stored school information.

Legal rights and disputes

Nothing in these proposed terms is intended to exclude rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer and data-protection rights.

The governing law, dispute process, and any permitted limitations of liability must be settled with SkyLight Tech Enterprise and applicable school agreements before these terms take effect. This draft does not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, or a monetary liability cap.

Updates and questions

A finalized version should identify its effective date and describe how users will receive notice of material changes. The date above identifies when this draft was prepared, not an effective contract date.
